An important win for our firm

We take great pride in realizing victories for all our clients’ causes, however certain victories remind us why we work so hard to protect their best interests.

Such is the case of 95 years young, Mrs. Nolin. Following a terrible accident which occurred in the elevator of the assisted living residency in which she resides, our firm obtained a judgement granting her $100,000. This amount is significantly higher than the norm for a victim of such an age in the Quebec legal system.

Following the aforesaid judgement, the insurance company for the Résidence Sainte-Claire unsuccessfully attempted to have the judgement revoked. Not only did the judge reject their request, they were further ordered to pay a part of Mrs. Nolin’s legal fees in virtue of their abusive use of procedure.

We had the privilege to deliver to Mrs. Nolin the cheque corresponding to the judgment in capital, interest and fees. We invite you to take note of the published judgement at the link provided:

We would like to thank Mrs. Nolin for her continued confidence in our firm during the entirety of the proceedings. It was truly an honour to represent you.

We are pleased to welcome Me Dino Mazzone to the Mitchell Gattuso team

Effective today, June 1, 2018, I returned to private legal practice as a lawyer and Partner with the law firm of Mitchell Gattuso SENC. Please see my new contact information at the end of this post.

This year marks my 25th year at the Bar of Quebec and I find myself returning to the same place where it all began for me as a law student in 1991 – my wonderful memories working at 1010 Sherbrooke Street West. Over the last few years, I had the opportunity to grow as a business and corporate attorney as I devoted my time to operating a business venture. As a lawyer who has dedicated his professional career to being a trusted legal advisor to small-to-medium-sized businesses, I was able to see and learn firsthand the different pressures and responsibilities of owner-operators: developing a budget, paying suppliers, managing a staff of employees, implementing business plans and generating revenue. This experience was invaluable and it will serve me well in my law practice.

I chose to return to private legal practice because I am a damn good lawyer and I missed serving and giving my all to my clients. I chose Mitchell Gattuso because it is a mid-sized entrepreneurial law firm – all the expertise and know-how of a large firm yet without the big fees that come with it. The law firm can service my clients with their business and corporate needs, their real estate deals, their labour and employment matters, their family issues, their tax questions and any litigation proceeding that they may want to institute or defend against. I wanted to go to an organization that would to play to my personality and my strengths as a tenacious advocate, deal maker and problem-solver. I am pumped and raring to go. I wish to personally thank my partners, Me Brian Mitchell and Me Consolato Gattuso, for giving me this marvelous opportunity.

For any of you wishing to reach me, please update your contact information to reflect my new business co-ordinates:
